Glenn E. Alexander II
Glenn Alexander II is versatile conductor, pianist, producer and arranger, whose unique musicality spans multiple genres.
Glenn has guest conducted orchestras such as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, American Composers Orchestra, Symphony of Southeast Texas and the NYU Symphony. He is currently the Associate Music Director for the Broadway bound musical, ALI. He was also the Associate Music Director for the nationally renowned Paper Mill Playhouse’s production, After Midnight. Glenn toured across the United States and Canada as Conductor and Music Director for the National US Tour of Anastasia the Broadway Musical. Glenn also made his Carnegie Hall debut conducting Academy Award winning composer Jon Batiste’s premier of “American Symphony” and is featured in the Netflix Documentary, American Symphony. He’s also made his Lincoln Center debut with the American Composers Orchestra. Glenn also serves as a cover conductor at the Manhattan School of Music.
On Broadway, he is a substitute pianist for Disney’s Aladdin. Also as a pianist, he was awarded the opportunity to perform for Steinway & Sons President, Ron Losby, as a result of Prairie View A&M University becoming an "All-Steinway School." He also participated in piano masterclass with renowned pianist, Awadagin Pratt.
His collaborations have included the likes of Award Winning Composer Jon Batiste, Infinity Song, Tamar-Kali, NYU and Teachers College, Columbia University. Not only is he heavily involved in classical music, Glenn recently co-produced a nationally renowned EP "Kim Cruse" and he’s also an accomplished gospel musician having served as a pianist and organist for many different congregations.
Glenn is an alum of the the Chicago Sinfonietta’s renowned Project Inclusion Freeman Conducting Fellowship program under conductor Mei-Ann Chen. Glenn studied orchestral conducting at the Manhattan School of Music under George Manahan, he holds a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting from the Bard College Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Prairie View A&M University. His teachers and mentors include James Bagwell, Damien Sneed and Dr. Vicki A. Seldon. He is a brother of both Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America. He currently resides in New York City.
